Clearing the Confusion: My Approach to Tackling Acne Head-On

Hey babes! Welcome to my blog! As a licensed esthetician and skincare enthusiast, I understand the challenges and frustrations that come with acne. In this blog post, I'll be discussing my personal experiences, effective skincare routine, and professional tips for managing and treating acne. Whether you're struggling with occasional breakouts or persistent acne concerns, this blog aims to provide valuable insights and practical advice to help you achieve clearer, healthier skin. Let's dive in and uncover the secrets to conquering acne!

Well The funny thing about acne is that there's this perception that it only happens when you're going through puberty as a teen. Well let me tell you the cold hard truth. Acne can literally happen at any stage in your life - and as you enter a new stage there are new triggers that can cause acne for you. YAY right? I've made it part of my mission to understand how to shift through the stages of life and mitigate acne breakouts. As someone in their thirties and has experienced more acne in my adult life than in my teens I was very intrigued by how to get the skin to calm the F down and behave like it did when I was a teen.

Somethings got to give right?! My philosophy of tackling acne is to create a homeostatic environment for your skin to heal itself. Find out what is causing the break out. Usually some thing or some things are out of balance. Is it your hormones? Is it your stress level? Is it your elimination system? Is it something you are eating? Is it your skin barrier? Is it your hydration level? Is it your sebum production level? Are you cleansing properly? Is it your home care routine? WHAT IS IT THAT IS CAUSING YOUR BREAKOUTS?! I'll go on a journey with you to discover what it is and tackle one issue at a time!

For me: breakouts come when I’m EXTREMELY stressed out - which causes me to eat a lot more refined sugar and bam breakouts! Even though I know this; sometimes I can’t help it and I have to pay the consequences. What is it for you and what can we do about it?

Currently my stress levels are at bay. However, I do have a solid routine that supports the stress level that I am experiencing and will help mitigate any breakouts if there is a fluctuation. I will say that lifestyle plays a part in how your skin behaves. But these are the current products I'm using to help keep the health of my skin at a homeostatic place.
